In a game dominated by Wibsey it took a late 88th minute deflected winner by captain Chris Wood to seal victory against Halifax Irish.

Wibsey started the game with Cory Larvin replacing the unavailable Damo Harland at right back in the only change to the team beaten at Bay. In a first half dominated by Wibsey chances went begging as the Irish goal led a charmned life. The Irish keeper was kept busy as shot after shot rained on his goal. The second half was more even as the Irish substitutes began to cause the Wibsey back four problems. As the game went on Wibsey became more frustrated as chances were again missed and good positions to knock in some decent crosses went begging until the 88th minute when a Joe Brooksbank fired in a shot which hit Chris Wood and deflected past the stranded keeper. 

Despite not playing particularly well no one could deny this was a deserved victory against a well organised Irish defence
